The Executive Branch plays a key role in the laws that are in place today. Take for example Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act. It expands the affordability, quality, and availability of private and public health insurance through consumer protections, regulations, subsidies, taxes, insurance exchanges, and other reforms. It was signed by President Barack Obama on March 23rd, 2010. It recently became law, so now everyone needs to have insurance.
The Executive Branch also has to deal with current issues such as: Immigration Reform, Gay Marriage, and our involvement in Afghanistan. The issues are by no means easy to deal with, and will continue to be subject to much debate in the years to come. That's why we vote. We vote for people who promise to keep our interests on these issues. If we feel like we aren't being represented fairly, we don't have to vote for the candidate. It is an interesting part of our dynamic political system that influences our everyday lives.
